Three sonatas by Veracini
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27I'm really very close to having all the music from laymusic.org moved
here.
In the Spring of 2003, I was working on some sonatas by
Veracini for my recorder lessons. The only copy I had was a bad
xerox, so I transcribed them.
I don't have time this week to update the lilypond and put them
up as individual pieces, so I just put the book into the database
without the pieces.
So if you want to play Veracini sonatas for flute or violin,
Holborne Pavane
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27We're not really on an all Holborne all the time kick, but we
are enjoying them. So here's the
one for this week. Now that MuseScore is translating
the capella
source from the Icking
Music Archive, it's pretty much the fastest thing for me to
transcribe.
Hurray! The transfer of content is complete
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27I think as of a few minutes ago, the content of laymusic.org as it relates to music
publishing is now all on this site.
If you discovered this site in its current form, and didn't ever
look at the old site, the new stuff you might want to see
includes:
Lullabie
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27Another Tuesday, another Holborne.
I've seen this one and the next one done on Christmas concerts.
Tant que vivray correction
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27There were a couple of notes wrong in the tenor part of Tant
que vivrai by
Claudin de Sermisy.
Since I was fixing them anyway, I modernized the lilypond.
I intended to add the rest of the lyrics, but lyricsmania.com seems to
be down, so I'll do that some other time. A friend needs the
corrections for a workshop soon.
Tant que vivrai second verse
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27I have now added the second verse to Tant que vivrai.
Morley updates
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27I've been putting together the music for the
December 17 Cantabile Band concert. It's going to have a Morley
set, so a bunch of those pieces have been updated. I don't
remember fixing any content problems, so there's no real need to
download them again if you're happy with the edition you have, but
if you'd like bigger notes, or reference scores, or the better
La Sampogna is fixed
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27There was a human error in my updating process that led to the
notes for La
Girandola being uploaded under the name of La
Sampogna when I was updating the Morley
Canzonets yesterday.
So if you downloaded La Sampogna yesterday, you
Lassus Fantasias
Submitted by Laura on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 18:27The Phalese Bicinia were among the first pieces I
acquired and played in facsimile, and also among the early ones
I transcribed. The Motets
I was playing with my recorder teacher and had access to a decent
modern edition, so in spite of my inexperience with Renaissance
Music, I didn't make too many terrible errors. This was not the
case with the Fantasias or the
Chansons.
